This role focuses on active laboratory involvement and collaboration to advance cell therapy discovery projects. The ideal candidate willdemonstratestrong teamwork skills, a willingness to learn, and a humble attitude.

Accountabilities

Conducts hands-on drug discovery research experiments 

Works collaboratively in a matrixandfast-pacedenvironment

Assesses and reports data with a clear understanding of its implications within the overall context of drug discovery

Maintainsa proven understanding of approaches to drug discovery and applies a broader functional knowledge of the procedures used by diverse project groups to support the department where needed

Provides technical instruction to the team andallocatesadministrative work where possible

Ensures own work, and work of peers, is compliant with relevant internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulations 

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degreewith3+yearsofexperience in a relevant scientific field or significant relevant experience and knowledge of Cellular Therapy, Immunology, and Immune-mediated Diseasesfrom working in the life science sector.

  • In vivo skillset including animal handling, mouse tumor models, standard routes of dosing and engraftment

  • Experience in developing cellular therapies including CAR-T, TCR-T, and/ or TIL therapies

  • Proficiencyin transfection/transduction, expansion, and cell culture of primary human/mouse T cellsand cell lines

  • Hands-onexpertisein T-cell functional characterization assays such as in vitro cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine measurement

  • Proficiencywith multi-parameter flow cytometry (Immunostaining, acquisition, and analysis)

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Background in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry 

  • Advanced degree in related field

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $87,200 - $130,800. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
